The Simplest Way to Commute to La Union From Manila

Traveling from Manila to La Union might sound daunting, but it's actually quite straightforward. Whether you're seeking the famous surf spots of San Juan or the historic charm of San Fernando, getting there is a breeze. Here’s how you can make your journey as smooth as possible: take a bus.

The simplest and most common way to get to La Union from Manila is by bus. Several bus companies operate routes to various destinations in La Union, making it convenient and affordable.

Bus Companies that Travel Daily to La Union from Manila and Vice Versa

Most of the buses that head north have branches in Cubao (northern part of NCR) and Pasay (southern part of NCR). Note that all buses going to Vigan, Abra, and Laoag will pass by La Union, so it doesn't matter if the sign does not say "La Union." There's a reason our province is called the gateway to the north.

Partas Transportation Co.: One of the most popular choices, Partas offers comfortable and reliable services. This company is owned by Chavit Singson and his enduring legacy.

Fun fact, the name of this company comes from "satrap" spelled in reverse. This is the term for governor or leader in ancient Persia. Also, Satrap is the name of the sister company of Partas that deals with auto-mechanical works.

Viron Transit: Also known for its clean and punctual buses.

Dominion Bus Lines: Offers multiple trips daily, but the volume is less compared to Partas and Viron.

Maria De Leon / Farinas : They also pass by La Union on their way to the northern provinces.

Where to Catch the Buses

Most buses to La Union depart from bus terminals in Cubao (Quezon City) and Pasay (near the EDSA-Pasay MRT station).

Ticket Prices

Depending on the bus company and class (regular, deluxe, or first-class), ticket prices range from PHP 500 to PHP 800. The high-end tickets usually include a Lazy-Boy solo seat and a bathroom on board.

Travel Time

In the past, the journey usually took around 5 to 7 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the specific destination within La Union. However, after the TPLEX (expressway connecting Tarlac, Pangasinan, and La Union) has been completed, the journey has been shortened to 3 to 4 hours.

He didn’t really need a fancy house, but his parents insisted. They wanted him to get as much rest as he needed after the ruckus he went through when his girlfriend and childhood friend sued him for assault, which was ludicrous.

Best Practices for Library Collaborations and Partnerships with Other Organizations

Library collaborations and partnerships can work if we consider several factors, many of which have a lot to do with the cultural and economic climate of the region where your library is located.  Similar Perspectives  Unless all organizations in the collaboration agree that “a community can help raise a child reader,” the entire project will be in jeopardy.  We should never forget that there are people that do not believe libraries are still relevant, and if the organization the library is partnering with secretly or outrightly believe so, then the project is doomed from the start.   Examples of Library Collaborations  Some partnership projects your library can join are the following:   a book drive for disaster areas  workshops for slow readers (children/adults)  a recurring storybook reading session  Challenges of Library Collaborations One can dream that all library partnerships will be smooth-sailing, but experi...
