That Time I was in the News for Being a Topnotcher in the Librarian Licensure Examination

 

In 2017, I bested nearly a thousand other examinees, many of whom are younger than me by 2 decades, and claimed the third place in the national Librarian Licensure Examination. 

It was such a big deal for a 40-year-old working mother juggling a business and studies that ABS-CBN, then the biggest TV network in the country, went to our restaurant to interview me. They also went to the school where I got my degree in Library and Information Science and interviewed my teachers and dean. Good times.

I am proud of this achievement, and it makes me happy that I could be inspiring people, especially women, who feel like life has passed them by, and their dreams are no longer valid. If this is you, then I tell you this. Try. There's no other way to find out what else you can do with your mind if you don't at least take your shot.

No regrets. Happy to be a librarian who once was featured on the news for her skill in studying.
